One Word Film Project

In this activity, we were given one word and had to create a short film that developed one concept. It had to be filmed in school and had to be 60-90 seconds. We used different shots and angles techniques to create our story. We started with a planning sheet and then storyboarding to take our time and have an outline of our plan to be able to have a clear idea to follow.

This was our brainstorming sheet:

The original brainstorming process started when trying to figure out what objects/props to use that apply to our word. We ultimately decided that the cats at our school would be perfect in the sense that it's not the everyday thing to see or use. We then opted to start the filming in class in order to provide context to the following events, and then continue to develop our story.

These were our storyboarding panels:

Storyboarding helped my partner and me achieve the product we wanted by giving us a pre-planned visual guide. It ensured that by following our plan, we could make adjustments as needed while still adhering to our outline for the best possible result.

As beginner editors, the simplest and easiest to use resource to use was Adobe Express. Their easy access to different tools and effects made the process simple enough for anyone to use.

In the end, I believe that we had quality clips and our editing skills meet the standard. I do wish we had taken extra "filler" clips in the sense that not all of our transitions were seamless, and with a wider variety of choices of clips to choose from, we might have been able to have better transitions.
