Our very first test was unlike any other I've done. We had to create a short story using only supplies we had on us in class, and it had to be done in 15 shots, no more, no less. We also needed to incorporate specific shots that were specifically asked for, but we were also given the freedom to use other shots and angles that we've learned about.
When I approached this, I wanted to try and deviate from the standard ideas of fighting water bottles/ pencils and pens, or the sad story of one pencil committing suicide. So, from there, I thought of every little thing in my backpack, and I realized I had a perfume bottle, and so did my partner. We agreed to do a sort of jealousy dynamic to in the end to form a friendship. From there, "Perfume A" and "Perfume B" were born.
Looking back on the project as a whole, I believe I did a decent job at creating a clear storyline with all the shots and angles I used. Using all the techniques I knew at the time, I did the best I could, especially with starting as a novice and trying to work my way up. Some things I could've definitely done better were making some of the shots a bit clearer on what they were and describing why I used them and how they contributed to the overall meaning. As well as labeling some shots better because some shots that I thought were one thing were actually something else.
